Friday was Taylor's 15th Birthday. Holy moley!! Where has the time gone??? She has become quite the young lady, and Dad and Mom couldn't be more proud!!
Each year, the girls get a choice - have a birthday party or have presents. This year, Taylor decided to have the presents and spend the day with her family. She says that she doesn't yet know enough people to go through a party, and that made sense.
So, the day of her birthday arrived, and Mom was completely ill. Not even the makers of DayQuil could help, so she enjoyed the Friday night pizza and a football game at school with Dad and her sisters.
With the help of medication, we made it into Billings so she could actually have a birthday celebration (along with some errands).
Thanks to Grandpa, the girls got to enjoy Build-A-Bear. Taylor wanted the Batman Bear and Mandy really wanted the Captain America bear, so now they have them. As they were Limited, we got in there just in time. Jordan enjoyed getting a glow in the dark kitty and outfitting "her" for Halloween.
Taylor was able to go to her favorite store - Hot Topic and pick her gifts from Mom and Dad. She ran around the store like a crazy person trying to decide the most "perfect" items to get. In the end, she got two pairs of jeans, a shirt that means a ton to her but nothing to the parents, a pair of Batman shoes, a Batman scarf and a necklace. She completely freaked out when she learned that she could have all of the items she wanted, and I got to hear how much she loves me and how amazing I am over and over again.
During most of the shopping adventures, Ken hid outside. Cracked me up that he weenied out of everything and took the easy way out, but it was his preferred method to survive.
After shopping, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings - Taylor's requested Birthday Supper. The girls were getting tired by this point, and honestly, I can't blame them.
We love when Mandy has one of her meltdowns, and we strive to always document these.
Much to their embarrassment, Ken still always grabs me for a photo op. Thankfully, Taylor takes it in stride and still takes the photo.
We enjoyed our supper, and then finished the day with some light grocery shopping before heading home. Taylor ran into a friend from school at the store, and she was presented with a beautiful necklace that her friend had for her birthday. Score! Gotta love extra gifts.
Taylor carefully organized her new stash in her room, and then kept saying thank you over and over again until bedtime. I think it's fun to remember when shopping and new stuff required organization and time.
All in all, she seemed to have a great birthday. I am so happy and lucky that we can do these things for the girls!!
