We have been really, really busy here at the new Homestead. It's still fun for me to say that. As you can see, there have been a lot of changes and updates to the house. The left are the "before" pictures and the right are the "after."
The initial sticker shock has worn off, and I'm really happy with the way things have turned out!!
Ken and Michael started to unload the trailer, and I was so incredibly happy to find the espresso maker AND it was the same day that the new coffee maker arrived from Amazon. Taylor laughed at me when I hugged the coffee machine, but it was so wonderful to see this amazing piece of machinery!! I was getting tired of a doublshot and having to run out for coffee. Now, I am able to brew at home again!
It has been so weird for me to have neighbors dropping by to say hello. At times, I find it really annoying. It seems that everyone just happens to know when we are seriously busy, and I can't be rude and tell them to come back another time. Talk about an adjustment period!!!
We went out to supper at the Golf Course, and it was so nice to have real beef. Stephanie was our waitress, and she offered some great ideas and information as well as welcomed us to town. Oddly enough (actually, it wasn't odd at all), we saw her again later at the 4 Aces where we went for Saturday night drinks.
Eventually, Stephanie joined us. She gave us some more information on the town and where to go for things like Halloween trick-or-treating, etc. Bola, the bartender, also offered to take Ken pheasant hunting with him and show him around. Seriously, we haven't been here a week, and we are already getting all of the insider information.
