Pre-wedding in Akron

This trip to Ken's hometown was quite the experience. It is the first time that I have ever removed the girls from school, so they had Independent Study work to do while we traveled, and there was so much packed in to this short trip.

Katherine made it clear that she really wanted us to attend her wedding, and Dad kept saying how important it was to him that he have all of his children together. Sadly, Ken and I just couldn't come up with the finances to do it.  Dad decided that he would pay for all of the tickets which shocked me (and many other who hear the story).

As always, we enjoyed walking around the Village and enjoying a seriously more small town atmosphere.  The girls could not get enough of Perry's Ice-Cream, and since it was hot, we had a lot of it!

The girls can never get over the differences between our home and here.  There is grass everywhere - which they will roll around in, and then Mandy loved the frogs that she found by Aunt Katherine's home.  I had to keep reminding the girls that there are bugs and other fun issues too such as ticks - so keep out of the woods!
