Throughout the day, we watched what little news there was about these bombings. We kept hearing about the heroism from the First Responders and other runners, about how some bystanders jumped in and helped out, but we never heard who did this or why. Typically, you get to hear someone take "responsibility" and their mission in terror, but this hasn't happened.
I was disappointed in the President's address to the nation. Of course, I agreed with Obama on his rally of support and optimism that the people of Boston would rally together. I was pissed off that he refused to use the word "terrorism" at all in his address AND he cautioned against "jumping to any conclusions" about what has happened. What the Fuck!!
Um, Mr. President, you were the one who jumped to conclusions about Zimmerman shooting Treyvon Martin. "If I had a son, he would look like Treyvon." Those were your words which helped to further divide race and class in this country. After the school shooting at Sandy Hook, you came out immediately and made a statement that guns were responsible for this shooting and you would do everything to further gun control in this country. BUT, when someone sets off what appears to be IEDs within our borders, we are NOT supposed to jump to conclusions that this could be another Islamic Jihad and terrorism brought to our borders????
Ken and I watched one of the Emergency Room doctors interviewed compare his day with Baghdad - this is an act of "terrorism" as the doctor called it, and the amputations and treatments were similar to those you would find in a "war zone." Ken and I have never seen or heard an interview with that doctor again, and we did not see that interview replayed on the news.
Why does the media not want us thinking that America is now no better than any other country? We have been in debt for so long and lost our Superpower status. The Obama Administration wanted to ensure that their anti-colonial agenda was met and America would be placed in its proper place. Well, we have. We are under attack from the elite - our Congress and Presidency has made themselves in a class above everyone else. Capitalism is under attack. If you have money, you are obligated to share it or be classified as a racist and money monger. If you don't have money, you are expected to ask for a hand out rather than find a way to better yourself. This has been the prevailing attitude of America for the last 5 years and it's only getting worse.
The American government has not been able to pass a budget in 5 years, but everyone has been quick to write bills for Gun Control after Sandy Hook. Now, we cannot blame the bombs for what happened in Boston nor are we to blame anyone for what happened. Obama promised justice to whomever did this, but there isn't any information on the investigation. With all of the police presence and precautions, a bombing still took place!
Yes, my outrage is immense. I refuse to be an ostrich and pretend that this would be an isolated event. I'm worried that this was a domestic terrorist attack to further someone's agenda, but the other hand shows that this could be a foreign threat because America has been weakened.
After the attacks at the Pentagon and the Twin Towers, America became United again. People were proud to be patriotic. Flags were flown, people actually sang the National Anthem at events. We stood up to those who tried to take us down and we showed them who were were. Suddenly, it was no longer acceptable to be a Patriot and proud to be an American. If you are, you are racist. If you speak against the President, it's because you're a racist. If you talk against the Welfare laws, you're a racist. Everything has a negative label just because you want to see the best for your country. People are clamoring for larger government and they are WILLING to sacrifice their Constitutional rights in trade for the government offering safety. History has shown us that this leads to the downfall of cultures and peoples: Rome, Germany, Russia - and the list goes on.
This bombing has done nothing but piss me off. I'm angry at whoever thinks they can further shake my Country and attack its people, and I'm really pissed off with our Government who is doing very little to find this particular culprit and who is doing nothing to strengthen our Nation.
