Total Relaxation

This was our only full day in Julian, and it was amazing. We started with breakfast in the parlor that was truly amazing. You began with a granola cereal, juice and coffee. And then they bring out the main dish. Ken had never stayed at a B & B before, so he didn't know what to expect, but he really enjoyed the atmosphere and the style. Breakfast this morning was Eggs Florentine with fruit. There was plenty to eat, and we were ready to go for the day.

We spent the first part of the morning at the local coffee house for a serious shot of espresso, and then we walked around Main Street enjoying the quaint shops. I did way more buying than I had anticipated, but I just couldn't help myself! I found the decorative teaspoon set I really liked, and then there were the metal signs - two that Ken just HAD to have for his garage, and one for my office.

We enjoyed lunch at the Julian Grille, and I truly enjoyed the patio dining, cozy home environment and the food was excellent. I had given up on taking pictures of Ken and me together, so I made him go solo for this one.

Once we took all of our purchases back to the room, we set off for some wine tasting!! I was very bad and did not take a ton of pictures, but we made out with a ton of loot - in the form of wine bottles. Our final destination was right there on Main Street near the Hotel - the Witch Creek Winery.  It was perfect!! Not only did we completely love their wines, but apparently, Ken thought that I needed the decor! Ken said that if I had that sign, it would make planning his day so much easier!

After spending far too much money on wines (Ok, I don't think that is actually possible, but whatever), we went back to the hotel and got ready for tea time. Once again, we went into the Parlor and enjoyed having some tea and snacks.  There were no cucumber sandwiches, but the breads and cookies were a great touch.

Once again, time for a nap - Ken and I were exhausted from all of the walking and the heat. The small nap worked wonders and we ventured out for supper. I would NOT recommend the Rong Ranch Restaurant. The service was mediocre which would have been fine since we were not in a hurry, but the food was horrible.  Definitely not worth the money.

Despite being disappointed in supper, we stopped for a couple of beers and then headed to our patio to enjoy a beer and the quiet. I loved the view while Ken and I each read our books and just casually lounged around and talked.

What a perfect way to end the day! I was so relaxed that I fell immediately to sleep and did not wake until morning.  Perfection!
