Ken and I snuck away to Julian, CA sans children for some much needed adult time. Ken had been to Julian before & had talked about it quite a bit. I couldn't wait to get away and wander around looking at history and some beauty, but most of all, I just needed the quiet and alone time with Ken!
I did some research and decided on the Julian Hotel Bed and Breakfast. I am so glad that I made that choice!!! This was the perfect hotel for us - quiet, quaint, and the Patio Cottage was set in the back away from the others affording us the solitude that I totally needed. The patio in front made sitting outside and enjoying our conversation or just reading quietly together completely perfect!!

We settled in for what was to a quick nap, but we didn't wake until after Tea Time in the parlor, and then everything was closed.
No, seriously, I do mean that everything was closed. The entire Main Street and Julian, CA itself closes by 8 pm. Ken and I weren't really hungry, but we wanted a snack and a drink, so we headed back down the 78 and ended up at the San Ysabel Casino - the only place anywhere nearby where you could get food and a drink after 8 pm unless it was your own home.
I thought it was completely perfect! I needed the quiet and the rest, and this was definitely the place to get it. We went back to our cottage and enjoyed the quiet, non-girls fighting evening and got some sound sleep.
