Home again

Well, all good things must come to an end, right?? The good thing is that Ken and I are not at the "end," and we found ourselves totally rejuvenated by the small get away.

Once we left Julian, we started home and decided to stop at a Mission that I saw on the way to the Casino.  It looked very different from the other Missions that I have visited, so I was even more intrigued.

The signs asked for no or limited pictures, so I only took a couple pictures of the plaques out front. The chapel was small, but it was beautiful inside, and the priest who helped to restore the chapel was laid to rest on the east side.

There was a museum, but it was very small, however, there were a ton of pictures to give the visitor an idea of what life was like here and the people who lived here.  Sadly, the gift shop was also closed.

Ken and I made it home fairly quickly. Traffic was really bad coming up the Cajon due to a brush fire on the opposite side, but apparently, people on our side had to stop and see the commotion.

Once we were home, it was time to unload and unpack. I paid the babysitter for her time and for her trouble of putting up with the Mandy Meltdowns while we were away.  Ugh!

But then, I had to run into my office and see my package!!!  My framed cross-stitch piece arrived while I was gone, and I couldn't wait!!!  Ken laughed, but I hung it myself to ensure that it got done immediately!

Talk about being excited!! I finally have another piece that I made hanging proudly in my home! The girls have their birth samplers, but this is something that the world can see AND it was beautifully framed!

Once we were done unpacking and finishing what we had to get done for the night, we crashed in bed. Both of us were very tired, and I'm sure it had everything to do with returning to triple digit heat.  Yuck!
