Friday night, I tried to pass the time without Ken by stitching. I'm not making great progress on Jordan's fairy, and then I made less progress because I discovered that I didn't leave two rows for beads. Ugh!! More frogging! So, I ripped out the stitches, and all I could think about was the picture of the frog that is normally included on the stitching site when people have to frog.
Yep, that little fucker was just getting me Friday night. I was able to get the dress done again - in the correct location this time, and then I was finally able to get some sleep. When I looked at how much floss I had ripped out, I was not pleased. Ugh!
Ken returned home on Saturday afternoon. Yay!!! I pulled rank again with Jordan (I'm the Mama and wife, so she had to wait to say hello to Daddy until after I did), and it was amazing that I could breathe again!
It was easy to see that the guys were exhausted from their amazingly fun Vegas trip. Ken managed to get ready for the hockey game, but he insisted that I drive because he just couldn't.
The game was great! It was the last game of the regular season, and despite their rocky start - our Ontario Reign took 1st for the Division. They even ended on a win; 6 - 1 over Alaska. Ken and I had a great time, and we were so sorry to see it was the last game, but we were ever grateful to have been able to do this.
For the last picture, Ken decided to be silly. I guess he thought that I would ask to retake the picture, but nah! I think this one is great!!
As we left home, the weather had started to get nasty. The wind was bad, and it was difficult to hold the car in the lanes on the way down, but as we left the Arena to head home, we found it was worse. It was raining, and it was the first rain for a while, so the roads were nasty. Then there's the fact that Californians cannot drive in the rain. Ugh. There was a nasty car accident that happened not too far in front of us. I knew there was a problem when I saw headlights on our side of the freeway. I slowed down, and was amazed that there wasn't a pile-up. One car was spinning and came to rest perpendicular to the lanes, and another car had finished spinning and managed to get to the shoulder. We called 911 to report the accident, but I was far more careful driving the rest of the way home. Luckily, the rain was contained below the Pass, but the wind was still bad.
