New supper and FAFSA

Last night, Ken tried a new recipe.  He is King of the Grill, so he got stuck with it, but it looked really good on paper:  a whole chicken with ricotta and Parmesan cheese between the skin and meat and seasoned with Tarragon and Basil. Sounds good, right?  Well, poor Ken slaved away and we sat down to the table.

Well, it smelled great, but we were so disappointed with the taste.  It wasn't that it was bland - I could handle that.  It just wasn't "right."  Ken and I both kept saying that there was something missing, but neither of us could come up with a solution to it.  Again, this wasn't a bad meal or gross, but it wasn't really good either.  It's definitely not something we'll be making again.  And, by "we," I mean "Ken."  HeeHee

On a really funny note, I filled out the FASFA today.  That is the application for Federal Student Aid.  Ken and I are really trying to figure out the options so we can realistically look at Law School, but this was the first step - asking for the money!  However, in the application process, this question was asked on the form, "Do you (and your spouse) currently have $36,500 in savings/checking accounts?"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!  Only the Federal Government would ask such a STUPID question when there is still a Depression -  okay-okay, no one wants to use the "D" word - "Recession" going on for 3 consecutive years.

I have to say, for a Monday especially, I laughed so hard and for so long at this question, that I had to share it on FB.  It was a simple "yes" or "no" answer, but I really wish there would have been alternate choices as answers.  "Are you kidding me?" would have been a good one along with "Fuck no!"  Unfortunately, those were not options, and I had to simply reply, "no" Ken and I do not have $36,500 sitting in the bank right now.
