Second Anniversary - Celebration #1

Ken and I go through so very much emotionally for our Anniversary.  We remember the feelings that we had on the day that we were married, and we, of course, relive the ceremony and the reception.  (We are still getting compliments on our reception.)  Ken and I each go through our own personal hell at remembering the diagnosis, and I get very upset at remembering Dr. Big Head who told me I shouldn't even marry Ken because he probably wouldn't live to see the first anniversary.  So, in complete defiance of Dr. Big Head, Ken is STILL here and we spare no expense to celebrate our anniversary.

Tonight's festivities were simple: a small cake, champagne and sparkling cider, our girls and our friends, Michele and Julia who decided to start dating at our wedding reception.  We love sharing our anniversary with them!

The girls loved that we lit our wedding candle for the evening.  Ken and I want to make sure that it's lit every year until there's just no more candle left.  He has promised me 54 1/2 more years, so I'm going to hold him to it.

I got everything set up - china, wedding cake serving set, crystal, etc.  Michele and Julia came over, and we started with pictures with the cake and had Julia open her gift.

I have a ton of wedding decorations left, so I'll pull them out every year for the Anniversary.

It's the snowblower Julia's been asking for the 4 years I've known her!  It's just miniature - for the stairs or something

We enjoyed ourselves and shared the memories.  Ken's anniversary gift to me was a Couple's Massage which was wonderful.  He wanted to keep the tradition alive.  My gift to him is a Wine Tasting in the Santa Ynez valley and we'll be staying at a Bed & Breakfast in Solvang.  Nothing like Christmas in the Dutch town!
