It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Whew!  It's finally (almost) done!  I tried to get the tree put together Friday before the girls came home from school.  That plan did not work out well.  I had to work in the morning, and then I took time to do some archery in the backyard.  I had no idea that it would take me so long to get the thing set up.

OK, so wow!  Luckily, Ken and I had purchased the new Tree Bag last year.  We took the time to dismantle the tree and tied all of the same branches together so it would be easier to set up.  Yes!!!  It worked.  However, this tree is so huge that it took me 4 hours to put it together.

By the time I was done, my arms were mangled from all of the scrapes and cuts from the branches, and I was completely exhausted.  Ken felt horrible for making me do it by myself, but he is still have Christmas issues, so I didn't want to push him to help me and then create a Christmas nightmare for him.

Yesterday, I got a set of lights that I thought I would use as spare parts for the strings that we've had.  Ken watched me try to salvage the $5 worth of Wal-Mart lights and then said forget it.  He went to Target with a friend of ours, Ted, who had been over and bought some LED lights for our tree.  Talk about bright!

Ken helped me get the lights on and the garland wrapped around the tree last night after the girls were asleep.  We put a few ornaments on that were special to us: the Family ornament we had made after the wedding, my very first ornament, the last ornament I got from my Grandma Eileen, ornaments from students, and the Margaritaville ornament that we bought last year.  Ken and I are totally bummed that we cannot find the ornament that we bought after our wedding, so we ordered a new one last night!

The house is looking great!  The best part of having our wedding at Christmas time is that we have a plethora of decorations that we are still using.  The best part of those decorations is that every time I set them out, I get to think of the wedding.  Plus, we have so many that the living room gets decorated pretty wonderfully.
