Unexpected getaway

I absolutely love that I can take the afternoon off on a moment's notice!  Ken and I had tried to go on a motorcycle ride over the weekend, but the wind made it impossible.  So, Ken noticed that there was no wind, and we weren't expected to get any.  I decided to shut down my computer, put my tasks for today on tomorrow's list, and off we went.

We stopped by Walgreen's to drop off Mandy's prescription -  her allergies are so bad that nothing is controlling them.  Then, we got a sandwich from Subway and bottles of water.  Then, we headed to Silverwood Lake.

The ride was amazing and wonderful.  The weather was getting warm, but not the 100 degree heat.  I had never been to Silverwood, and Ken could not wait to show it off to me.  He wanted to start walking around, but I had to eat lunch.

We grabbed a picnic bench, and we enjoyed a very quiet picnic.  Ken finished before me, so I got him with the camera walking around.  I even managed to get a picture of a butterfly that was constantly around while we were eating.

Just arrived

Yes, I made Ken take a picture on his bike

We drove to the Marina, and Ken and I walked around and looked at the lake.  There were quite a few families there for being a Tuesday.

Squirrels were EVERYWHERE.  My favorite was the one in the middle who just laid there checking everything out while the rest of them went berserk.  Awesome!

The ride back was faster than the ride out.  We stopped at Joshua's Inn for a beer before heading home.

Dig the Mason Jar!

This was such a great surprise for the day.  I loved spending another perfect day with Ken, but adding the bike ride and the Lake was a wonderful touch.
