Ken wanted to get to the range for some more practice after our class. He is complete right, we need to keep up the learning that we did, so we do not lose the information or the muscle memory. Unfortunately, I have had to work on my hands and arm pain from whatever this "fatigue" is from work. So, today was the first chance I had to get out there.
Well, no problem with my Sig 239. None whatsoever! I am happy to report, that I am still handling that firearm like a pro. I decided it would be smart for me to send some rounds down-range in my Kahr PM9 since I tend to carry it the most. It's always good to get some practice with all firearms that you carry. And that's when it happened. I totally forgot that this little gun has a mean magazine, and it bit me:
Holy crap!! This really hurt!! I slammed that magazine in there perfectly, but sadly, that finger was in the way. The swelling was immediate as was the bruising. Here it is two hours later at home after two sessions of ice:
The only good thing is that this little magazine is not what I'll have to use to load it on the fly. I have the extended magazines that I carry as well, so at least I shouldn't amputate my little finger in the heat of battle. In the meantime, what a royal pain!
