With the girls returning to school, it is also the return of the Pitiful Puppy. She sits and mopes about waiting for her girls to return. So often, you can find her just sitting by the window, looking out and hoping to see them coming home.
To celebrate the end of the first week, Taylor decided to use some of her babysitting money to take me to see the new Percy Jackson movie. She enjoyed reading the entire series, and this was the second movie. I paid for Mandy to join us. We had a fun day of errands, and then we enjoyed a snack at Buffalo Wild Wings:
Taylor and Mandy had never to been to this restaurant before, so they had a blast!! They enjoyed the wings and hanging out with Mama.
The movie was pretty cool. Taylor kept saying that they left a ton of things out of the book in the movie, but overall it was good. It was weird having my daughter purchase my movie ticket for me, but I know that it was a thrill for her to be able to do so. She loves having her own money, and while she's trying to save up for the iPod Touch, she also seems to understand that sometimes it's cool to have a little fun while putting the majority of her money in a savings.
I'm not sure how much longer my girls are going to want to hang out with me. I'm really impressed that at 12 and almost 14, they still like hanging out with me. I am hoping that it lasts a lot longer, but at the same time, I'm having to be realistic and know that I will one day be replaced by friends and (God forbid) boys.
These are the mugs that I received as a great package from some of my Stitchy Sisters. I also received some great blingy items that help me stitch:
I became very emotional when I opened my package. Inside were these great items - a needlethreader, a frogger, a fob and a needleminder. Gina made them, and they were paid for my Brenda and Rebecca. The mugs were from Brenda and Gina, but they arrived broken. I was heartbroken!! The mugs were purchased specifically because I had posted a picture of one to our group as something I hoped would still be available when I started working again. These wonderful women went out of their way to gift me some of the lovelies that I really wanted. I was blown away!!
One of the errands that I did today was to go to Hobby Lobby in Victorville. I was so lucky to find that they had two mugs left!! I checked them carefully for flaws, and then ran to the check out line. I returned the two broken mugs today, and received a refund. Ta-da!! It's as though I received two wonderful and perfect mugs from my Sisters. Yay!! I also splurged on the same Tuscan design in an oil holder for our hand soap.
