I took the girls down to Victoria Gardens on Tuesday to Color Me Mine. Unfortunately, they did not have a lot of inventory, but the girls were able to make some cute choices, and they spent a couple of hours making sure that their projects would be "perfect."
Jordan started losing interest after completing the top portion of her trinket box, so I painted the bottom for her. We enjoyed lunch together and some window shopping before heading home.
There has been a LOT of pool time going on, but with the heat, the girls have been spending a lot of time gelling out in front of the TV. I hate that they are spending so much time watching television, but I understand that it's too hot to do much else.
Jordan and Lexi have been practically living together this summer. Taylor and Mandy have not been able to get in touch with their friends, so they have been stuck at home, but this summer, it's been about Jordan. Kim and her girls joined us for "Girls' Night" on Wednesday, so it was finger foods and a movie.
We made plans to go to Hesperia Lakes Park with Kim and her girls. We met up with her and BBQ'd and picnicked. The weather was perfect for it!! We only got into the high 80s and it was a bit overcast in the morning. Totally awesome!!!
Kim had taken some pictures of her girls and Jordan before we arrived, and she was awesome enough to share them. What a little ham!!
Mandy tried so hard to hide from the camera.
Brian literally spent most of his time in a tree. He didn't "have anything in common"
with some of the other teens in the Park.
When it came time to BBQ, Ken and I realized that we forgot a spatula for the grill, but Ken is an awesome Marine, and he improvised with a couple of plastic forks. HAHA!!
Ken used his fingers to deal with the hot dogs, but the forks for the burgers. It was hilarious to watch!
The weather made it really nice, and we enjoyed getting out of the house for a while and letting the kids expend some energy and not being cooped up in the house.Friday night, we actually forced Michael to allow us to celebrate his "Unbirthday." This man seriously hates celebrating his birthday, but me being me.....I can't allow it! Not only that, but I totally felt that I had found the all-time best birthday present ever, and he couldn't just "receive it."
The Mattel's Fanner 50 capguns with holster and caps was exactly the best gift for Michael. He had been wanting these since he was little, and it took him over 50 years to get them, and I was the one who did it. I really wish I would have had the camera ready and captured his face when he saw the cap guns. It was awesome!!!
We took Michael to The Italian Kitchen for supper, and I let it "slip" that it was his birthday which resulted in him being brought a piece of cheesecake with a candle and sung to. HeeHee. Yes, I'm truly evil.
After supper, Ken and I went to Michael's where we enjoyed more wine, cigars, and a lot of music which included Michael playing his guitar and singing some of his own original songs. He even coaxed me into singing with him which made Ken happy. I love how silly these men can be together, and that the friendship is so strong. Watching them dance together was hysterical because both of them kept trying to lead! Michael really loved his birthday, which made me feel wonderful!
Sadly, when we got home, we found that Addie had a huge cut on her back paw. Ken and I looked at it, but decided that it was too deep for us to handle, so $430 later, she was taken to an emergency vet hospital and received some sedation, stitches and the Cone of Shame. We have no clue how she cut her foot, and I know we'll never leave her home again overnight by herself. Ugh!
