My morning consisted of the "normal" Mother's Day routine: tissue paper flowers, hand-made cards, breakfast made by the girls. I loved getting my Remington 1100 LT box. I also can't wait to pick up the receiver from "gun jail" and be able to try it out.
The rest of the morning and early afternoon was calm: the girls played in the pool and I got to finish reading a book. I was completely blown away when the boys showed up though.
Sean was the first one to actually acknowledge me for Mother's Day, and this year, he was joined by Justin. Sean outdid himself of the gifts: plenty of Starbucks coffee beans, a new French Press, and he went completely out of his way to get me a Black Forest cake for dessert. Justin showed up with a bouquet of flowers, so now I have fresh flowers in two rooms.
Both of the boys were completely attentive, and I was overwhelmed by it all. After waiting so many years, I was overcome by it all.
Ken slaved away and smoked a tri-tip and he grilled veggies. Supper was amazing!!
It was so awesome to see the kids with Ken throughout the day. First the girls:
And then the boys:
There are times when we all realize that our time with Ken is short, and it happened again tonight, but then we're just thankful for each day that we get.
There is no doubt how blessed I am in life. Yes, I feel stupid for my pity-party the other day. Dealing with those skeletons is a waste of my time, and I'm glad that the times it occurs is getting to be less and less.
What an amazing day!!
