Getting up early, however, proved difficult for Ken and me. Even though I was horribly excited about going, I was really tired in the morning. Once the girls learned where we were going, they were up, dressed and breakfast eaten without a problem. Go figure!
When the park opened, we did not have any trouble getting on rides. There was no one in the park, and we were able to walk on to any ride we wanted during the first two hours. The weather was overcast, so I am sure that played a huge part in the park being empty.
I sincerely HATE that I have to keep a secret, but the dress rehearsal show that we saw is not allowed to be spoken about on any social network, etc. Let me just say that it is really cute, and I'm sure that it will be a huge success when it opens to the public. The girls had a great time watching it, and we saw many smiles on their faces during the performance.
Once the sun peeked out, it got warm and crowded. However, Ken was surprised that the longest wait we had was 45 minutes. Yep, that was it and it was for Splash Mountain. We went on every ride we wanted to, and the girls were able to meet their ride requirements as well.
Nothing like a little Pirate time and Jack Sparrow
As you can see, it was very empty for the first part of the day
Taylor and I enjoying the ride
Amanda did NOT want to go on It's a Small World because of the song,
so she kept her ears plugged the entire time!
You have to love a Daddy who spends $5 for each child to have a fake driver's license from Autopia!
Sadly, my feet were aching by the end of the day, and Ken wasn't feeling great. We went and got the shopping done and had supper in order to wait out traffic and then headed home. You can tell they were tired but happy by Jordan's face:
We made it home by 9:30 and the girls went straight to bed. They love their new Mickey sunglasses and pens, and they could not WAIT to tell their friends where they had been. How cool to miss some school for some fun!
