Breaking in September

The first full week of September has gone by, and it happened very quickly. I'm still trying to believe that it's September, and the triple digit temperatures are making it even harder to believe. We should not be this warm still, and the humidity we have suffered through all summer is so not normal for So Cal, that it's made life very difficult for us. I'm really looking forward to the Fall weather, and I promise myself now that I will not complain about the cold temps this winter. ;)

Ken had a great hunting trip even though he did more shooting than actually bringing home dove, but we still had a great feast upon his return.

Michael Gallagher spent a few nights hanging out with us causing us to stay up late and get into trouble.

The girls had a great week at school, and Mama got a new Jordanism based on the girls' determination of how I am supposed to treat them.

Please note that you can barely see Mandy standing behind Taylor. Mandy not only didn't like the sun in her face for this picture, but she didn't want her picture taken while she waited for the bus in the first place.

Work was horribly busy again this week creating some stress for Kasey, but Thank God for the Happy Pills and some quiet nights with Ken on the patio with a cigar and a drink.

Ken and Kasey whisked away to Los Angeles to attend a surprise party for Jason Brick given by his wife, Andi - who managed to plan this and succeed in keeping it a secret all the way from Chicago. 

We started the day by having lunch with an old high school friend of Kasey's, Dustin Bailey, and his daughter, Isabella. It was fun to catch up on the last couple of years:

When we arrived for the party, Kasey was amazed that at the party consisting of mostly Jason's family and SHE was considered "normal."  It was a great trip and a fabulous party. We had a great time at the party itself, and we loved being included in the family breakfast the next morning. This is a great bunch of people we hope to see again.

Jason and Andi then drove all the way out to our house so Andi could try shooting some pistols. While Ken took them to the range, Kasey and the girls got to hang out with Liam and Sean. Kasey loved the baby fix, and the boys loved all of the female attention.

 And of course, Sean got a ton of attention. Who can resist a cute baby!

 Liam walked over, straddled and just plopped down on Mandy's chest to watch TV. It was AWESOME!

It was a great week, and a wonderful weekend.  I have been promised the pictures that Andi took with her camera, and I cannot wait to get those uploaded. I know she got some great pictures of Ken and me at the party!
