I finished the month of July while at the Beach. It turned out really cute, and I loved adding the buttons and framing it.
Because I finished July so quickly, I wanted to get June done before the end of the month - which I did! The ladybug button was so thick that I couldn't add the glass in the frame, but Ken suggested I remove the button from the fabric, put the glass back into the frame and glue the button to the glass where it goes. I'm still toying with the idea - I'm not sure I want to bother since this will only be out for one month per year. Hmmm.
This is the shelf that I have decided to put each month on. I love it because people will see it as soon as they come into the house. They are cute little stitches that are simple but noticeable.
Since I finished two small pieces quickly and 3 on evenweave, I decided to start the Letter J fairy again. I agonized on what fabric to use, and I used the fabric viewer to look at all of the different dyers, fabrics, options, etc. I wanted to make sure that whatever I chose could be used for all 3 Letter Fairies that I am making for the girls. While I want each of their pieces to be unique to them, I thought it would be cool for the pieces to match in fabric and framing.
I have not been happy with how the wings are blending in, but I know it will make a differences when I backstitch. The rest of it is popping on the fabric, and I so very LOVE stitching on evenweave - this fabric is 28 ct Lugana in Spring Breeze by Stephanie Bishop.
