Mother's Day 2011

This Mother's Day found me being honored by Sean - Ken's oldest son.  I am still in disbelief that after two years of marriage, one of the boys wanted to honor me for Mother's Day, but Sean had called Ken and asked him about our plans.  Sean couldn't be in our area on the actual Sunday, so we made arrangements to meet on the Friday before.

Sean showed up and had a great gift for me: Starbucks!  He is working at Starbucks, so I was treated to two pounds of beans and a mug the kids could decorate.

Then, he drove us to Starbucks for some coffee and then we went to Nubi for frozen yogurt. Sean said that he wanted to take me to lunch, but he couldn't afford lunch with me and supper with his mom.  I totally understood and had a blast hanging out with him.  Have I mentioned that I was stunned that he wanted to hang out with me and we had fun???

On Saturday, Ken and the girls gave me my gifts:  a Kindle gift card and a new green travel mug for my coffee.

I still can't get over how spoiled I am with Ken around.  It's really nice.  Mother's Day was DISNEYLAND!  That was all I wanted to do for my special day, and we went.  The morning was perfect - there was hardly anyone at the park.  We enjoyed  the Merry-go-Round - (OK, the girls enjoyed it, but Ken and I watched), Peter Pan, It's a Small World, Pirates and Thunder Mountain, the Haunted Mansion and we enjoyed the Winnie-the-Pooh ride since Critter Country was open again.  We were totally going to spend the day at the Park, but apparently a LOT of people had the idea to share Disneyland with their mother.

We got home early and the girls were able to get ready for school.  Ken had forgotten that he bought me cards early, so I got a second set of Mother's Day cards, which was totally cool and I loved it completely!
