Mandy did not want to take a picture in front of the seal. While it bummed me out, the other two were totally excited to take a picture.
Once we entered the Faire, the girls LOST....THEIR....MINDS! They had so much fun looking at the different artisans and shops. Jordan loved that people walked around and called her "mistress." She said that it made her feel "important." Of course, everything that Jordan saw, Jordan wanted. It also took her some time to understand that just because people were coming up to her and letting her try things on, it didn't mean that she got to keep them for free. This stymied her as Jordan thought she got everything for free since she's, well, Jordan.
The girls could NOT believe that this is how blankets were once made. |
I could use this sitter at times! |
OK, there's really no need for a caption here. I'm just so happy that she posed for this very apt picture! |
Make way for the queen! |
For me, visiting and seeing everything again was great fun. I hadn't been here specifically to have fun since I participated way back when in high school. I didn't work the Faire full time, and it was only two seasons, but it was fun. I loved watching Ken watch the women. He was very happy with the fact that boobs were everywhere.
And finally, we found Susan. It took me a couple of passes to find her, but she was there!
And then we found Ali! Of course, Ali and Jordan got along well. Jordan just went over, sat down and started asking a ton of questions. After I visited with Susan for a while, I sat with Ali and we chatted. The girls enjoyed some gelato and then Jordan got busy socializing and working the crowd. Some people were wondering why she wasn't in costume.
Ali was great about answering Jordan's numerous questions |
As we walked back towards the gate, the girls were started to seriously bug about the things that they wanted. They knew their dollar limit, but they wanted to stretch it as far as they could. As we were walking, Jordan noticed a very tall man, and she just HAD to talk to him.
Then, it was time for some jumping rope - and it was simply because the guys had the rope in the walkway.
Finally, the girls made a decision on what they wanted to buy. Mandy got a sun umbrella, Taylor went for the pet dragon, and Jordan found the perfect headband with pink flowers and a pink butterfly.
Once Jordan deemed herself a princess, she felt she had to take pictures with everyone. She never even asked if she could, she just went over, stood there and told everyone to smile!
Ken and I giggled about some of the things the girls kept talking about on the way home. It was cute how they were finally understanding what the Faire was about. Jordan decided that there is no way she could be anything but the Queen...OK, at least a princess. Mandy and Taylor talked about how cool it would be to talk like them and act like them - "it would be like dress-up every day, but as adults!"
I'm glad that we were able to give the girls one more memorable event. It's the little things in life as well as the adventures that dictate who we will become. I'm hoping that the girls will be amazing with everything they have seen and have yet to see.
