Mojave Fish Hatchery

There is no way I would have appreciated the Hatchery if Ken had gotten me there before he had taken me trout fishing.  Since I had the experience of fishing in a stream, I was totally excited to be at the Hatchery.

I couldn't believe how many fish were in the tanks.  There were tanks that held what seemed to be a million recent hatchlings all the way to the large trout which I assume were going to be let loose into the wild, but I found myself wishing I could just drop a line in and pull some out.  They were enormous!

Ken treated me to some fish food out of the dispenser, and it was so much fun to see the fish go crazy for the food.  I completely remember Ken telling me that where we were fishing had just been "stocked," but I didn't fully comprehend it until I saw the hatchery.  Sadly, the Fish and Game guy that we saw had no interest in talking to people at all, so I wasn't able to ask my questions.

Still, it's totally cool that this is near where I live.

Apparently, a cat was very interested in the fish as well, and this cat really loved walking with Ken
