So, off we went to Bass Pro in Victoria Gardens for their Fish Company Restaurant. Ken and I stopped there a few weeks ago, and he LOVED the sesame tuna plate.
It was for this seared tuna that we went back. I enjoyed the ribs tonight, but Ken was adoring every bite of the tuna again tonight. I was really excited when the waitress told me that I could have a sample of the alligator. I had never tried it, and I didn't want to spend the money on an appetizer that I wasn't going to like.
The sauce was a bit overbearing when the alligator was dunked, but I loved the taste of it, so I went ahead and ordered the appetizer plate. It was very yummy with only a little sauce, and now I can say that I had alligator meat. Very cool first for me!
After supper, we walked around Bass Pro, but there was nothing that we needed or wanted (I'm still not happy that the tripod on Ken's spotting scope for Father's Day was defective and they still do not have a replacement).
We then went over to get some items at Bath and Body Works which meant that we HAD to stop for some coffee together.
Victoria Gardens is a really cool place to hang out even though it's a bit snobby. Ken and I figured that we should check out BevMo! to see what was new, and I felt that I had to purchase a new tequila - mostly for the bottle:
Yes, that's right - very phallic! |
The absolute longest part of our date night was at REI. Again, we are so limited to what is available to us in our area, that we take advantage of the stores we really love when we're around them. Ken was looking for a Day Pack, and it was just over an hour before he was certain of the one he wanted. I walked the store with him looking at all of the things that he wants and then the things he needs for all of the hiking and camping that he does. I was totally stoaked to finally find a hat that fits my puny head. Unlike my friend Julia, I have small feet, small hands and small cranium! It drives me crazy. I looked at some adult hats and they were all way too big, but I found one in the kids' section that was perfect!
Yes! That's right - this hat was for a child like Jordan. |
