Jordan has spent the last two weeks wiggling, and wiggling her very first loose tooth. Last night, the tooth was finally bothering her to the point that she again asked her sisters to try to pull it out.
Sadly, they could not get the tooth out. If you look closely, you can see the bottom tooth totally forward. The tooth was hanging by a few roots and bleeding, so Jordan was traumatized and came to Mama to help her out. I pulled quickly on the tooth, and out it came.
There was an initial shock and then the pain set in.
When it was time for bed, we put the tooth in a bag and under her pillow. Jordan was hanging from her bed singing my praises, "Mama! You're the BESTEST EVER! You ripped that tooth right out of my head!" I laughed so hard at that. Just imagine, I am the best because I can pull a tooth out. Wouldn't it be great to put that on a resume? LOL
Then, Jordan started discussing this new development with Mandy. "Sister, is it a LOT of work to grow a new tooth in?"
During the night, the Tooth Fairy did deliver a $1 bill and removed the tooth. Jordan woke up and stumbled into our room, holding her dollar bill. Ken picked her up, and she started to cry.
"All I got was this $1! Where's the rest of my money?"
Ken tried to explain that it was a small tooth, and that's all she gets. Jordan then demanded to know where the tooth fairy lived so she could get her tooth back since all she got was a dollar!
I tried not to laugh, but it was really funny to watch her be so upset. She asked Ken why she couldn't get 4 quarters instead of a dollar. Ken went and got 4 quarters from his tray, and handed them to her. When he tried to take the dollar from Jordan, she fled the room in order to keep both the dollar bill AND the quarters. At this point, I'm hysterical with laughter and teasing Ken because he was outwitted by a 5-year-old.
We did get the quarters back, but it was an event.
PS - Ken is having difficulty with the fact that his baby has now lost her first tooth indicating that she is growing up. He has requested to stay on Denial status and imagine that she is still his little girl rather than the fact she is growing faster than we would like. HeeHee.
