Ken got a total charge out of listening to the girls squeal with delight with every fish caught and their excitement at their accomplishments. Jordan kept saying that they were all Master Fish Catchers now.
The cabin we got was huge and accommodated everyone and our gear. The girls were initially in shock by the fact there was no television in the cabin. They were worried about how they would spend their evenings, then they realized how fun the campfires and card games were.
Ken & I were able to get out a couple of mornings and fish just the two of us. We had a great time, and in one part of the stream, I caught my limit in 20 minutes. Ken was just as shocked as I was - especially since I caught 3 fish in rapid succession while he was putting a hook on his line.
It was great to have caught fish during the day and then have it on the table that night. The girls just thought it was great to live and eat "like in olden days".
The weather was great - while it was 90ish at the base, we were in the 70s. The girls marveled at seeing the chipmunks & field mice scampering around, and they loved seeing how everything in nature works together.
I took the time to make a Book to commemorate our trip to Glacier Lodge, but it is so important for me to write about it here as well. Jordan hated watching Ken clean the fish - she thought it was absolutely disgusting. The girls completely got alone and were sisterly to one another. Ken had a blast getting to know each of the girls and helping them to learn and maneuver with nature. He is such a natural dad and so wonderful with them and with me. Wow! This was such an amazing trip for so many reasons.
