A Summer Weekend

I spent some of the day working on my stitching today while Ken and Justin worked on weeding the backyard.  Sadly, we had to pay Justin for his help, but at least it got done.


Once they were done, Ken got the pool vacuumed and he and the kids went into the pool.  The weather was rather warm, so the cool water felt great to them.


After a while, I needed to get some pictures.  It's so rare that Justin is here for any length of time, and I wanted to get some documentation of the event.

Jordan, of course, hammed it up for the camera. Mandy was actually smiling and having a great time - so I was really happy to get it on camera.  Seeing Justin with short hair makes it obvious that he is Ken's young clone.  Wow! 


Ken was tired after his day, so we ordered pizza, and then I got busy on a manicure for Mandy. I keep hoping that Taylor and Jordan will stop biting their nails, so I made sure to complete the manicure in the dining room.  Mandy got Fuscia Pink and I went for Gunmetal Grey.  She absolutely LOST.HER.MIND that I took the time to paint her nails.  It's completely NOT my style to be girlie and do nails - and no, my pedicures don't count because those are done to keep my heels from killing people - but Mandy really needed some personal time with Mama.
