By the time I had dragged myself out of bed and put on my PJs, the girls were busy cooking breakfast for me. I loved catching them all with the camera to show how I found everything. Jordan was playing with Ken's phone, and I saw flowers - somehow Ken had managed to purchase flowers for me yesterday and keep them a secret!! I guess it helps because I don't snoop through his office, but still - he surprised me!
Taylor and Mandy were busy making pancakes and bacon. God knows my stomach doesn't wake up so early, but they were so excited to have it ready. I just want to know who decided that the best Mother's Day gift was breakfast?? It usually takes my stomach an hour to wake up and be ready for food, but today, I had to just eat right away. They were so proud of themselves!
Ken took pictures as I opened my cards. The girls loved the ones they made and the stuff that they said in their homemade cards cracked me up. Jordan wants me to have another baby, and Taylor thinks I'm the cream to her cheese. Holy shit! Hahahahaha!
Mandy made sure to tell me that the fan is for my hot flashes. Awesome!
I love that Ken spends so much time to find a sweet and sappy card for me. He always finds one that has the most perfect words for us. He had already purchased the Stoney Creek gift certificate for me. $50 Whoo-hoo! I overspent my discretionary this month, but I'll still be able to purchase the stuff I need for next month.
While the girls cleaned the kitchen, I hid in my office. I really couldn't take the status of the kitchen after they were in there - it was a horrendous mess. Thankfully, they knew to clean it well.
I took some time and created a new website where I can link from here and keep my stitching more separate. I don't mind having people snoop through the Family Blog, but some people have stated that they would rather only look at the stitching. So, I created Koehler's Kreations today, and I had a good time picking the background and making a banner. I even added a link to the right side-bar so that people can click and be taken straight to it. I feel kinda bad because there's nothing there, but I'm very impressed with my to-do list - which is actually missing a lot of items because I couldn't find the pictures.
The girls played in the pool most of the day, and Ken went to the store to get the exact meal that I wanted for supper - steak. Yum. It was finally 1600 when I took a shower and got clean. Nothing of consequence was done by me today, and I rather liked it that way.The girls worked fairly hard to get along and not fight today, which is exactly what I asked for for today.
Supper was steak, roasted potatoes and corn. The girls got to have hot dogs as their main course. It was really nice to not be expected to help out with preparations.
My plan for the evening was to have a cigar and finish the wine with Ken on the back patio with Ken, and then I was going to do some stitching. I was taking care of some emails on my computer, and Ken tells me that Sean was here. I knew that Sean was spending his day with his mother, but I didn't hear anything other than a text from him, so I wasn't expecting anything.
Well, surprise to me - two years in a row, and Sean acknowledges me with a Happy Mother's Day, a small gift, and spends some time with me. It is very touching to me, and I hope one day he fully understands how nice it was to be remembered as a Mom to him.
Needless to say, I didn't get to the stitching. It was far better to share a drink and a cigar with our son on the patio - especially since the weather is so nice right now.
