I managed to make Ken some breakfast this morning, and I loved taking the time to cook. It's totally relaxing, and I love that I'm finding another niche for myself. This morning, I used the Vanilla Bean crepes with a cream cheese filling and homemade strawberry syrup made with strawberry preserves and some white wine stirred constantly over a low heat. Yummy!
(Going back on the rant) The only consolation for my professional frustration is that I know I'm not the only one. AND - worst of all - it's not just my school district that is having these kinds of problems. They are EVERYWHERE! Posting pictures on Facebook has gotten to be the norm for me. These were the pictures of today, and they totally fit!
This was the first one of the day - and I claimed it to be my motto for the next three weeks!
This one totally works! It explains why I'm afraid to answer my phone at work!
I usually have a post each day about my dedication and love of coffee. This was a good one:
And, after spending about an hour dealing with the one person who has made my professional life miserable this week, this little gem was posted by a friend and I just HAD to have it!
I managed to get a couple of reports done today, I worked on the "To-Do" list for next school year, and then I started the filing of all student files for this year. This was one-third of the files I had to lock away:
So, Monday I got some shooting in for some tension relief, and last night, I worked on my cross-stitch piece which helped to alleviate some stress. Tonight, it was our friend, Michael Gallagher who came over to bend our ear for a while, and then we sat on the back patio and enjoyed a drink and a cigar.
I made Ken take a picture of Michael and me - I don't think I ever took one of the two of us. It will be used at the picture of the day in my 2012 book.
Then, I took a picture of my cigar laying across my Ken's Cadillac Margarita, and I sent it to my counter-part from work, Jen. It seemed a perfect ending to a bitch of a day.
There is still that nasty knot in my neck and shoulder, but at least I think I might be able to sleep tonight. Our Del Mar trip just cannot get here fast enough! My sarcasm and twisted sense of humor should help me get through the next couple of weeks.....I hope!
