The girls' behavior this week was stellar, so Ken and I decided to take the girls out to a quick supper and then to the movie theater to see The Lorax - the new animated movie based on the Dr. Seuss book. Brian wasn't coming over tonight anyway, so it was a great time to have it just be us.
We stopped at Del Taco for our supper, and once we were there and seated, we told the girls about our plans for the movies. They were excited, and they ate a little faster (which was my plan).
Our plans were working perfectly! We arrived at the theater with a few minutes to spare, but while we weren't horribly early, we were still there early enough to get good seats.
The girls laughed and carried on during the movie. Jordan was so funny - she made her usual commentary throughout the movie, and all of the children in the the spoke along with the section that is shown on the commercial, "That's a woman?!"
Towards the end of the movie, when the theme was sinking in about not destroying the environment, I noticed that Taylor was sniffling and using her sleeve to wipe tears. I dug around in my purse until I found my tissues and handed her one. Soon, I had to hand her another.
At the end of the movie, Taylor was still crying, and Jordan had stopped. Mandy and Jordan were dancing with the music while everyone else in the theater left.
Taylor didn't want her picture taken since she was crying, but the other two didn't mind. I even got pictures of Many - actually smiling and enjoying herself. Whoo-hoo! The end of the movie was the first chance Ken had to get his lap back from Jordan who sat in his lap the entire movie.
Once we were home, it was time for the girls to go to bed, which they did with minimal fussing. It was great to have a change to the routine, and even better that we had the extra money to take the girls out today. I still can't believe the cost of it however - even with the Military discount, it was $30 for the 5 tickets. Holy crap!
