Thank God for the Weekend

Ken is amazing with our budget.  Of course, he goes over every little thing with me, but my head will actually hurt when dealing with numbers and he loves looking at those numbers.  We sat down and went over how our month was shaping up since we are getting to the end of it, and we're doing pretty well.  So, rather than just have the same ole Friday night plans, we decided to shake things up a little bit.  We took the girls out to supper for the Friday night rather than pizza at home, and they loved every second of it!

Applebee's it was!  The girls got their food in a sit-down restaurant which is always a treat.  They giggled amongst themselves about the happenings at school, and they filled up in on what was happening.

After we were done eating, we headed back to the house for the movie portion of the night.  If there had been a decent kids' movie in the theatres, Ken and I had discussed taking them out for the movie as well, but sadly, the good movies don't start until next weekend.  We stopped by to pick up Brian since he decided that he would grace us with his presence for the evening, and we sat down to watch Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.  The girls are enjoying getting to watch each movie in succession.

We called it an early night and got to bed.

And then Ken and I realized how lucky we're getting: the girls stayed quiet in order to watch cartoons in the morning meaning that we GOT.....TO.....SLEEP.....IN!  Whoo-hoo!!!  It was only until 8 am because I'm a stinkin' morning person now, but it was still wonderful and amazing!

Ken agreed to have coffee with me on the patio since the weather was nice.  It was a little nippy out but nothing a sweatshirt couldn't handle.  We went over our schedule for the weekend which was blissfully not full, and then Ken went into the garage to work on his reloading.

I managed to finish my book - which was completely amazing!! - and the girls ran around outside getting fresh air and exercise while Ken worked on the loading.  Then, all of the girls were in the garage with Ken helping him out.
Ken wanted me to get a picture of the three girls sorting brass for him to post on Facebook.  One of our friends, Jeff Wells, posted that he wished that he, too,  had minions to do this work for him!  No matter which picture I looked at that I took of the girls in the garage sorting, Jordan always knew when the camera was pointed at them, and she stopped to pose for every photo.

After finishing my book, I decided that it was time for an early afternoon shower and to get going on my agenda for the weekend (stitching!).  I had heard Taylor discussing that they had made signs for their bedroom door, but nothing prepared me for what I saw:
I now have the proof that I use that statement far too many times in their presence.  Plus, they have seen The Wizard of Oz and understand the statement now.  Holy crap!
