This morning I found myself sitting in Ken's office and listening to the girls talk. Mandy was doing the dishes and Taylor was cleaning up the dining room.
Mandy, "Wow! What a record day for me!" Taylor, "What is so special about it?" Mandy, "Mom usually has to yell at me like 4 times to do the dishes and she only had to yell at me twice today!"
Mandy, "Ugh! I hit my funny bone. It is so NOT funny to hit the funny bone! Why do they even call it that?"
Taylor, "I can't wait for Thanksgiving to celebrate all the things I'm thankful for." Ken says, "Nah, we're not celebrating it this year." Taylor, "OMG! I just LOVE Thanksgiving! We HAVE to celebrate it! I mean, who wouldn't celebrate Thanksgiving?!" Mandy, "Um, the people who don't celebrate Thanksgiving."
As I sat at Ken's computer laughing and trying to type, I explained to him the conversation that I overheard. He starts laughing and then tells me a conversation he had with Jordan this morning:
Ken, "How do I tell the difference between your face and your butt?" Jordan, "How?" Ken, "One makes farting noises and the other is your butt". Jordan starts laughing, rolls her eyes and says, "Good one, Dad!"
I could TOTALLY see Jordan's face, stance, and attitude while they had that conversation. This is just a typical day in our house. Nothing special going on, just the routine life. But, these girls think the damnedest things and do not mind us tearing into their psyches. Ken and I keep laughing and speculating that if Jordan doesn't turn out with a huge complex, we will both be surprised.
