Jordan - scarier

Yes, I made her pose for this picture. It took me a while to stop laughing after our discussion, and I missed the candid shot.  So made her stand there for three takes (I couldn't stop laughing)

While I was locked in my office trying to study yesterday, Ken comes in & asks if I knew what Jordan was up to. Now, it was Jordan, so I got very concerned and hesitantly asked what.


Ken had her come into my office & she sheepishly entered carrying a small book. I asked her what she was doing and she simply said, "reading."


I looked at Ken and asked him what the problem was.  He then asks me to take a closer look at WHAT she was reading.  Holy crap!  She was reading the Webster's Dictionary!  I asked her why she was reading it, and she tells me that there are a lot of really cool words in the dictionary, and she wanted to learn more of them.  


There isn't enough problems with Jordan and her vocabulary in this house or at school??  She has to start reading the dictionary?  FOR FUN??  


Once again, the teacher in me is very excited about this, but as the mom, I'm petrified of what's to come. 


I did talk to her later in the evening about this desire to read the dictionary.  Jordan explained that she wants to so she would know what words she could use and what words she couldn't.  She really liked that "shit" and "slut" were in there.  "If they're in the dictionary, Mama, then why are they bad?" 


Oh for fuck's sake!
