Snow Day!

Well, it's clear that anything is possible as it has snowed in the desert - again!  We had snow when Ken and I were married, but last year we just had a plethora of rain.  We brought in the New Year with actual snow - not a lot, but just a couple of inches that closed down the schools.

During the evening when it was snowing, the children all lost their minds.  Leena and Daniel were distracted from their concern for their mother with the fact that it snowed so soon after arriving.  The children were all in bed when it truly started to snow and stick, so I managed to get some peaceful pictures.

The next morning, all 5 of the children were up and almost out the back door.  I had to remind them that we like our neighbors, so I will not allow them outside to scream and play at 5:30 in the morning.  They looked at me like I was crazy, but they did return to the bedroom.  Daniel, snuck quietly out of the room and crept into the living room.  He watched the snow fall and then exclaimed, "It's Christmas!"  I told him that Christmas was over, but he argued, "No!  Look! It's a White Christmas, duh!"

At 9 am, after asking every few minutes and all of them deciding that I was very mean, saw the kids outside screaming and playing in the snow.  Ken had a great time getting some wonderful pictures.

Addie took quite a while to figure out that the cold stuff was fun

And once she did, she wouldn't stop

Daniel kept wanting to throw snowballs, but they always landed on his own head

Leena was all over the place wanting to get the best snow

Taylor is obviously impressed with the snowball she made

Addie wanted to get into trouble with the kids

Jordan throwing a snowball at Ken

Addie suddenly took off running...

And it was Daniel she wanted

And she took Daniel down

Daniel's "Hunny", Taylor to the rescue

He quickly forgot he was grounded by the puppy

Prior to the children romping through the snow, it was very pretty outside.
