Ken has been searching Craigs List every day looking for various things that we need/want. One of the items was a large, above ground pool for us to enjoy during the summer months. Well, he found one Tuesday, picked it up Wednesday and had it operational by yesterday.
When the girls figured out that we were getting a pool, they were totally excited. They quickly realized, however, that they are only going to have 4 days to enjoy it before school starts. I started hearing a LOT of whining followed by, "It's not fair!" Of course, I was obligated at that point to add that "Life is not fair, and there is no rule book that says 'Life is Fair.'" Now, when I was a child, that comment from an adult would result in my stomping off angrily muttering to myself that it was still not fair. However, I am now the adult, and I have Jordan.
Jordan responded in a very Jordan-like manner. She looked me dead in the eye after I perfectly delivered the "Life isn't fair" speech. She cocked her head to the side, and she replied, "There IS a book called that! I've seen it!" She then tore into her room and spent 30 minutes looking through all the books in their room for a book that said, "Life is Fair." I have to admit that she is tenacious as well as stubborn.
(She never found the book, and she quickly lost interest. So far, she has forgotten that Life isn't Fair.)
While I was at the doctor's office in Loma Linda for a weird incision separation, Ken sent me this picture:
So, the pool is working and completely did the job! I picked up Christina on my way home so she could spend a couple of days with us. We found that the water is way cold, and even when the temp was over 100, you cooled off quickly in the pool. Everyone is looking forward to getting into the pool again later today, and we have numerous requests for a pool party now.
