Tonight's choice for movie was Alice in Wonderland. The girls had never seen this movie, and they were absolutely quiet through the entire film. They had enjoyed pizza prior to the movie and then mint chocolate chip ice-cream for dessert.
Hanging out together and watching a movie seems like such a small thing, but they adore it! It's fun for Ken and me as well.
After "Alice" was done, we had time for a 2nd feature, and we put in Robin Hood.
This time, the girls did not sit quietly entranced by the movie. Through every song, they laughed and sang and danced along. I really wish that I could post videos here. I'm going to have to create a youtube account just so I can link the silly things that the girls do on here.
Jordan shook her butt to the songs, and the girls adored "The Phony Kind of England" and sang it all the way to bed. They are also now shouting "Oo-da-lally" whenever they are excited about things. LOL
Taylor is at the age where she wants answers for everything, so she asked "Why this" and "Why that?" Answering her with, "that's the way Disney did it" is no longer working, but she got through the movie with just as much enjoyment as her sisters.
My favorite part of the evening was when we were watching Robin Hood. There is a scene where Little John and Friar Tuck are rescuing everyone from jail. Friar Tuck starts shouting when he sees Robin Hood going to get the money. While he was shouting, Mandy started shushing him so he would alert the Sheriff. Ken and I thought that was great! She was so into the movie that she was trying to interact with the characters (and she tried to stay in her room at the beginning of each movie saying that at 9, she was too old for Family Night).
All in all, this was a great evening. As soon as the movies were over, we got the girls in bed since we're heading to the Del Mar Car Show tomorrow. We'll have to get up early and get moving, but the girls are excited.
Happy Weekend Everyone!
