Party Planning Frustrations

Jordan's birthday is drawing near, which anyone who has been within screaming distance of her knows all about.


OK, so I went out and bought the invitations and all of the gear for a Little Mermaid Party.  Ken was ready to allow screaming little girls back into the house.  I helped Jordan to write the information inside the invitation, she painstakenly went through the friends she would like to invite and narrowed it down to 8.  This is rule:  only 8 friends - one package of invitations.  It keeps the cost down and it seems to work since no one really gets their feelings hurt since everyone gets some attention.  


Jordan take the invitations to school to pass out, and this is the note that I get back from her teacher along with a list of all the students (girls were highlighted) and a baggie containing the unopened invitations:

Just to make this point, there are 17 girls in her class!  So, I'm supposed to change the protocol in my house and allow Jordan to invite everyone when her sisters don't get to do so, and there's the observation that, well, Jordan hasn't been invited to a birthday party this year.  


At this time, I'm waiting for a response to find out how to "go around" this note from her teacher making the above stated observations.  


Let's see what happens.  I am really worried that Jordan will have to do without a birthday party this year due to this silly rule of not hurting feelings.
