Mandy hosts her birthday party

Mandy hosted her friends to our house for her birthday party.  Ken and I tried to figure out what to do for her since it rained the entire night before as well as most of the day, but the kids had a great time running around the house and playing.  You can see what became of our yard due to the rain, so all plans had to change - delete outdoor activities.

Mandy did pretty well in being the hostess.  She had no problem welcoming everyone to the house, and she remembered to offer them snacks and soda most of the time.

Despite her request for Hello Kitty and Tinkerbell items, Mandy went with the Disney Princess theme.  The chips were a great hit and lasted all the way until Uncle showed up with the pizzas.

The kids played board games as well as hide-and-seek.

And there was some intense dancing around the living room while blasting music.

Ken was worried that little boys were invited to the party.  Neither of us were prepared for Mandy to be interested in boys yet, but we were relieved when Keith, the 3rd grade kissing guy, didn't show up.

Cake time was a hit.  The Cinderella on the cake lights up, and the girls were all crazy on sugar.

The girls went crazy with the icing, and then it was time to open the gifts.

From Kylie and Kynna:  a new Webkins and Magic Rocks, from Chloe, she received a Tinkerbell bag, Yaylor E.A. gave her the Hello Kitty Scrapbook set that Mandy wanted, and Chase picked out a Tinkerbell toy and painting set for Mandy.

And then, for some unknown reason, there was a dogpile after the gifts were opened.

Kynna, Kylie and Chloe were scheduled to spend the night, so Ken and I were able to relax for a short time after Chase and Taylor left to go home.  Mandy loved being able to spend time with her friends, and loved celebrating her birthday with them.
