I went to Target and found the Easter section. I was able to get three cookie cutters and all of the sprinkles I could carry, and then Mandy and I got the icing that she wanted. To make things even better, I picked Mandy up 30 minutes early from school and brought her home to make cookies.
Now, Mandy has never actually made cookies by herself before, and I just naturally have a hard time "letting go," however, I was very proud of myself and then of Mandy throughout this experience. I showed Mandy how to do everything and she paid attention and did a really good job. When one of the really thin cookies came out a bit crispy, she knew it was because she had rolled the dough too thin - EXCELLENT!
Mandy is figuring out about making sure to use as much of the dough as possible before re-rolling |
She also figured out that if there was too much flour, the dough wouldn't roll very well. |
There was such a huge pile of sprinkles leftover. Mandy had seriously decorated these things, and when I dumped them over to remove the excess, I couldn't believe the amount. Mandy wanted them decorated a certain way, and I was pleased to hear her make a plate special for her and each of her sisters.
And the decorating begins |
The sloppiness killed me, but I let her go with it. (Her backpack is the same way - messy) |

It never ceases to amaze me how much these girls will fight and try to seriously harm one another, but they're quick to make sure that the other sisters have something special as well. I guess I'm doing something right.
